Ashley Ramirez is a Partner at Halogen Ventures where she co-leads across operations and investments. Since 2017, Ramirez has played a key role on the Halogen team, working alongside Founding Partner, Jesse Draper to invest in the next generation of billion dollar consumer technology startups founded by women.
With a special focus on fintech, future of shopping and Gen Z, Ramirez has a passion for sourcing and working with extraordinary entrepreneurs and teams who are innovating and building technology companies that will fundamentally transform the way we live, learn, work, connect, and communicate for generations to come.
Ramirez has a deep understanding of and first-hand experience helping early stage founders build their companies from the ground up. She works closely with Halogen’s 70+ portfolio companies, including Teadrops, the Skimm, Babylist, Toucan, The Flex Company, Squad (acquired by Twitter), Eloquii (sold to Walmart) and This is L (sold to P&G), among others.
As one of the youngest women in Venture Capital, with a non-traditional background, Ramirez brings a unique and valuable perspective to the industry. She is a leader and advocate for the diversification in venture capital and is playing a key role in shifting the playing field to become more inclusive on all fronts in terms of age, race, gender and backgrounds. She co-runs the Halogen Fellowship in Venture Capital, a fellowship focused on gender dynamics and addresses the lack of equity, diversity and funding in venture capital. This Fellowship aims to train exceptional undergraduate students in venture capital and to create more opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to become investors.
Ramirez sits as a board observer of New York based company, Bulletin and Kentucky based Inked Brands. She is on the steering committee of AllRaise, a program that helps to give female founders and funders access, guidance, and support to exponentially accelerate their success and propel the entire industry forward. She is dedicated to supporting and growing young entrepreneurs, women in finance and creating a more diverse pipeline of investors in venture capital.
Prior to joining Halogen, Ramirez worked in PR, Marketing, and Entertainment. She is a graduate of UCLA and an alumni of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
